GVB Amsterdam - Generalități

La 10 ani distanta de la primul meu reportaj de pe forum, revin cu informatii de actualitate.

Orasul s-a schimbat radical in acest timp. Inainte de toate, trebuie sa va spun ca transportul in comun este asigurat de catre firma GVB (Gemeentelijk Vervoerbedrijf). In prezent, se estimeaza ca aproximativ 843.000 de persoane aleg servicile GVB in fiecare zi, iar posibilitatea de a depasi pragul de 1 milion de calatori este din ce in ce mai fezabil.

Tramvaiele, autobuzele, garniturile de metrou si ferry-boat-urile fac parte din oferta pe care GVB o adreaseaza publicului.

Incepand cu data de 22 Iulie 2018, dupa 15 ani de constructie, s-a dat in folosinta cea mai asteptata linie de metrou din Europa. Linia 52 porneste din nordul orasului Amsterdam si are ultima statie in sud (Zuid), aproape de granita cu suburbia Amstelveen. Cele 7 statii pot fi parcurse in aproximativ 16 minute, fata de 31 la suprafata cat erau inainte.

Gemeente Vervoerbedrijf Amsterdam (GVB) este principalul operator de transport public din Amsterdam care detine in exploatare tramvaie, autobuze, ferry-boat-uri si metroul în zona metropolitană Amsterdam .

GVB a devenit o corporație privată deținută integral de orașul Amsterdam în 2007 și va continua să opereze servicii de transport public în baza unui contract negociat până în 2024.

Istoric

Anteriorul GVB, Gemeentetram Amsterdam (GTA) (Tramvaiul Municipal Amsterdam), a fost înființat în 1900 de oraș după ce a achiziționat o companie privată de tramvai (AOM). În 1925, a introdus prima linie de autobuz. În 1943, GVB și-a achiziționat forma actuală când Gemeentetram a fuzionat cu Gemeenteveren Amsterdam (înființată în 1897), compania municipală de feriboturi, și a primit numele său Gemeente Vervoerbedrijf Amsterdam (compania municipală de transport). În 1977, a introdus prima linie de metrou, iar 13 ani mai tarziu a aparut prima linie feroviară ușoară. În 2007, GVB a fost privatizată și, prin urmare, numele complet a fost eliminat.

Ieri a fost inaugurata linia 25 Station Zuid - Westwijk din cadrul proiectului Amstelveenlijn, inlocuind fosta linie Sneltram M51. Cu ocazia asta au intrat in exploatare si tramvaiele CAF Urbos 100 (denumite intern 15G).

In viitor urmeaza sa fie finalizat si tronsonul care face legatura intre Westwijk si Uithoorn.

Nu numai Astra face tramvaie cu scaune pt ologi.

Amsterdam metro faces troubles with new train control system

The persistent metro disturbances since the introduction of the new CBTC safety system do not seem to be solved for the time being. The older metro trains from the 1990s are not actually suitable for running under the new system, although they have been converted for it. The result is forced braking, delays and unsafe situations, according to conversations between local TV channel AT5 and the staff of GVB involved.

In 2021, the entire metro traffic was shut down eleven times, often for up to an hour. The same happened in the new year: a one-and-a-half-hour disruption. According to the metro driver of operator GVB, who prefers to remain anonymous, it is a painful consequence of the hasty implementation of the new safety system. He has been working for the transport company for decades and, as a driver, also helped with the test phase of Communications-Based Train Control (CBTC) four years ago.

System does not work with older metro trains

According to him, none of the engineers, including those from supplier Alstom, were satisfied with how the system functioned with the older metro trains. “I had to try to brake at full speed, but that went wrong. The older metro trains are too worn out to function with the precision of the CBTC system. If they roll even a few centimetres too far, the system stops.”

Councilman Egbert de Vries already wrote in a letter to the Amsterdam City Council at the end of last year that he expected the problems with the new CBTC system to last for years. In the letter, he explained the persistent disruptions to metro traffic.

Train control system not designed for Amsterdam situation

In September, Gerard Scheffrahn, programme director of the municipality of Amsterdam, told Dutch sister title SpoorPro that the train control system had not been designed for the Amsterdam situation and that it was therefore suffering from teething troubles. According to him, there are fewer problems with the North/South line because it is a new railway line.
