After successful tests of hybrid trolleybuses last autumn, we announced a tender for 50 trolleybuses that run part of the route under the contact line and part for traction batteries. We want to procure 3 types of trolleybuses – 12-meter, 18-meter and also 24-meter, three-cell megatrolebuses. The contracts will be financed by the Integrated Infrastructure Operational Programme from European Union funds.

All vehicles will be modern, fully low-floor, air-conditioned, on part of the route they will run under the contact line and part for traction batteries that will be recharged from the contact network. We plan to procure 16 pieces of hybrid 24-meter, three-cell megatrolebuses with a capacity of at least 160 passengers. The tested vehicle also managed sharp turns on the route 201 without any problems in November. It is on one of the busiest lines in the capital that we would like to deploy megatrolebuses to replace the existing 19-meter articulated trolleybuses. The estimated value of the contract is EUR 19 413 000 excluding VAT.

At the end of October 2020, we tested an 18-meter hybrid trolleybus on loan from České Budějovice. These tests have also been excellent, so the company plans to procure up to 23 pieces of 18-metre hybrid trolleybuses, which will have a capacity of at least 115 passengers. We would like to put them on the line to the airport and on the route of line 210 from Central Station to the New SND would replace the currently running trolleybuses with diesel generator. Thanks to hybrid trolleybuses and the construction of a contact line to the theatre building, the route of the line would be extended up to under the SNP Bridge. It would thus connect several important connecting hubs for people travelling to or from Bratislava. The estimated value of the contract is EUR 18 783 000 excluding VAT.

The third contract is the procurement of 11 pieces of 12-meter hybrid trolleybuses, which will be deployed on a new line between Koliba, Castle and Main Station, which will be created by connecting lines 41 and 203. The total estimated value of the contract is EUR 7 205 000 excluding VAT.

"I am proud that even in a difficult situation with a significant revenue shortfall caused by the coronavirus pandemic, we can continue to renew the fleet thanks to the efficient use of EU funds. This project will also be financed by the Integrated Infrastructure Operational Programme from the European Union Funds, with the specific objective: Increasing the attractiveness and accessibility of public passenger transport through the renewal of mobile means of rail public transport. Bratislava Public Transport will be significantly greener, better quality and we will even replace buses on several lines with new trolleybuses," concluded Martin Rybanský, Chairman of the Board of Directors of DPB.

Several operators purchased trolleybuses with extensive off-wire capabilities for use on route sections without overhead over the past few years. The first vehicles of this type were equipped with an additional diesel motor. More recently, however, various new trolleybuses have been equipped with a powerful battery package which allows for some 10-20 km off-wire operation. The batteries are recharged when the vehicle uses the overhead again. The vehicles have also been referred to as “hybrid trolleybus”.

Parca si caroseria incepe sa semene cu Solaris, a se vedea protectia rotilor. Si interesante barele la usi, vad ca sunt rotunjite fata de cele de la noi.

Si ale noastre le au la fel, probabil iti fura un pic privirea schema de culoare si anume ca partea rosie se curbeaza pe roata si nu e tras drept. Si le-a iesit asa deaorece la prima vedere dimensiunea geamului e un pic mai mica fata de ale noastre
