Quebec - 497 de autobuze hibride

Nova Bus, subsidiara americană a Volvo a primit cea mai mare comandă de autobuze hibride din istoria grupului (și cea mai mare comandă a Nova Bus). Cele 497 de hibride (12 metri) vor fi livrate în perioada 2020-2025. Mai mult, comanda prevede și opțiunea pentru încă 1028 de vehicule.
Autobuzele vor avea un motor diesel Cummins și unul electric Allison, potrivit SustainableBUS.

CAF has been selected for the design, manufacture and commissioning of 28 light rail vehicles for Calgary Green LRT Line. The contract also includes the delivery of depot parts, special tools and testing equipment as well as the TSMSSA service (Technical Support and Maintenance Spares Supply Agreement).

The agreement with the City of Calgary also includes an option for 24 additional vehicles as well as the extension of the TSMSSA service.

EUR 300 million is the estimated value of the contract which includes the base order and all additional options.

“Awarding this contract is a major project milestone and step forward in delivering Calgary’s next LRT. CAF’s proposal met all of the City’s technical and commercial requirements and their Urbos,” Darshpreet Bhatti, the Green Line CEO said.

The LRV is part of Urbos tram platform and will comprise of 7 modules along a length of 42 metres. With a capacity to carry 288 passengers, 73 of which will be seated, its cutting-edge design will guarantee excellent user safety and comfort, with other standout features being vehicle accessibility and spaciousness.

The low-floor LRVs will be adapted for passengers with reduced mobility improving accessibility, reducing station footprint and enhance safety for pedestrians and vehicles.

Calgary Green LRT Line, a 46 km-long line crossing the city on north-south axis, will be constructed in some phases. The first stage covers the construction of 20 km double track and 15 stations from Shepard to Eau Claire which includes two tunnels and 10 bridges. The first section will provide seamless connections with the existing Red and Blue LRT lines and four MAX BRT routes. Phase 1 of Green Line will connect more than 55,000 riders to Calgary’s transit network and create almost 20,000 jobs throughout construction.

The Phase 2 of the LRT will link Eau Claire to 16 Avenue N.

The line has CAD 4.9 billion (USD 3.9 billion) in funding commitments from the Government of Canada, Government of Alberta and the City of Calgary. In July, the Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau announced a CAD 1.53 billion (USD 1.2 billion) investment for the construction of the new line.
