Tren deraiat în apropiere de Bruxelles: un mort și 27 de răniți

Garnitura abia părăsise staţia din Louvain când, din motive încă necunoscute, primul vagon a sărit de pe şine şi s-a răsturnat. Trenul plecase în direcţia aeroportului Zaventem şi transporta peste 80 de oameni.

Contrar primelor informaţii, omul care şi-a pierdut viaţa se afla în tren, spun autorităţile. Dintre răniţi, trei sunt în stare gravă.

Accidentul a provocat pagube semnificative infrastructurii feroviare, iar circulaţia trenurilor va reveni complet la normal abia după câteva zile de lucrări.

Depoul Muzeului Cailor Ferate Belgiene vandalizat. Acestea sunt halele in care este stocat materialul rulant suplimentar, ce nu este expus permanent in interiorul muzeului principal (Train World).

for the record this building is not abandoned. it's a Museum's private collection from NMBS (Train World). this place is private property and made me sad people keep breaking in destroying hours and hours of work of volunteers. trying to preserve these historic locomotives while in the end keep begin destroyed. parts begin stolen or even copper thieves.

Speaking with experience of being a volunteer (but not this specific place. I have never been to Belgium), it's very demotivating when people acts like that. If you want to see the trains, just ask. I lost count of how many times I show up to do something in the repair shop and then I end up doing an unscheduled tour because some random people showed up unannounced and wanted to see the trains. They are kept indoor as protection from weather and vandalism and not to keep them away from people, who wants to see them.

Having a guided tour will also provide more correct facts. Not that it's hard to be more factually correct than this video. Despite not knowing any of the rolling stock in this video and it looking "very foreign" to me, I would probably do a better job at explaining what can be seen in the video. Then again I am trained to drive locomotives, so it would be embarrassing to be as ignorant as the people in this video.

This being a museum collection makes a whole lot more sense than it being abandoned. The age and diversity matches much better with museums/heritage railroading. Somebody has taken care of the steam locomotives. They have not been abandoned since the end of the steam era.
