Bratislava will end the operation of Škoda 25 Tr Irisbus trolleybuses

From July 1, 2024, Bratislava transport company will end the operation of Škoda 25 Tr Irisbus articulated trolleybuses with an additional diesel-electric unit, which have provided traffic on the line since 2006 on the island's Dlohodiel trolleybus line 33. Out of the original six vehicles, only three are still in operation today, which the carrier decided to definitively take out of service due to frequent breakdowns and the fact that they are not air-conditioned.

Instead, the carrier will put them on line 33 younger and air-conditioned Škoda 30 TrDG trolleybuses from 2015, which originally ran on the line 40, where they were replaced at the beginning of the year by newer Škoda 27 Tr Solaris battery trolleybuses.

Since these are vehicles with a smaller capacity than the Škoda 25 Tr trolleybuses, line 33 connections will run more frequently.

At the same time, for traveling public and transport fans, the transport company is preparing a farewell to Škoda 25 Tr Irisbus trolleybuses , which will take place on Saturday, July 6, 2024, between 10:00 and 14:00 at the Hroboňova trolleybus depot.
