MVG si SWM au dat o comanda pentru inca 73 de tramvaie Siemens Avenio T4, primele unitati vor fi livrate incepand cu anul 2021.
Stadtwerke München (SWM) have ordered 73 additional Avenio trams worth more than €200 million from Siemens Mobility. The municipally owned company is thus drawing existing options. The trams will supplement those of the same type already in service in the city. Delivery of the first vehicles is planned for 2021.

"In 2012, Munich was the first customer to order the new Avenio. In the meantime, SWM has continually expanded its Avenio fleet. The long-standing trust of our Munich customer rests on the special passenger comfort and the high reliability and availability of the trams already in service," said Sabrina Soussan, CEO of Siemens Mobility.

"The order of 73 new trams marks a major investment in the further expansion of Munich's tram system. The Avenio has shown such a good track record, we are continuing to rely on this vehicle type. The new trams will enable us to make further improvements in the existing network and operate new routes like the planned tram tangents and a tram line in the northern part of the city. Trams offer the ideal capacity between buses and subways. Moreover, as a pioneer in electric mobility, they have been operating purely electrically for over 120 years, effectively contributing to air pollution control in Munich," said Ingo Wortmann, Chairman of the Management Board of MVG and Managing Director, Mobility, at SWM.

The four-module trams will operate throughout the Munich tram network. They provide space for around 218 passengers. The car body is based on a welded steel frame. The entire body shell is also given a cathodic dip painting to provide optimal protection against corrosion. The spacious and bright interior has two large multi-functional areas for parking strollers and wheelchairs. Ergonomic seats and grab handles and infotainment monitors enhance passenger comfort and convenience. The eight double doors along the entrance side enable smooth and quick entries and exits.

Călătorie cu tramvaiul  pe linia 23 : Münchner Freiheit - Schwabing Nord și retur cea mai scurtă linie din oraș inaugurată pe data de 12 Decembrie 2009.

MVG a avut o strategie foarte buna comandind diverse variante de Avenio (2-3-4 segmente).

In timpul zilei, cind cererea e mare, pot cupla un T2 cu un T3 si obtin o capacitate de transport marita iar in afara orelor de trafic maxim pot folosi variantele mai scurte.

Strategia a fost foarte bună... pe hârtia din birouri.

În practică, le iese pe nas operarea acestor tramvaie, pe care abia recent au reușit să le cupleze (este vorba despre TZ2+TZ3).

În rest, tramvaiele TZ2 (poreclite "Bonsai") operate solo nu sunt bune pentru mai nimic, având capacitatea unui autobuz pe roți de fier. Pandemia a trecut iar valorile de trafic au revenit.

De învățat din acest exemplu de AȘA NU.
