Beijing Subway Line 3, Line 12, Remaining Section of Changping Line, Zhufangbei Station opened for operation today
The newly added operating mileage of Beijing rail transit is about 43 kilometers, with a total operating mileage of 879 kilometers.
After crossing half a century and waiting for more than 60 years, the Beijing Subway Line 3 has finally been completed and opened. With the opening of Line 3 and Line 12, the gap in the operating line numbers of the Beijing Subway has been filled. Thus, Lines 1-17 have been completed.
🚇 Beijing Subway Line 3 Section I
Route direction: Starting from the existing "Dongsi Shitiao Station"(东四十条站) in the west and ending at "Dongba Bei (North) Station"(东坝北站) in the east
Line length: 15.7 kilometers in total
Station setup: A total of 10 stations are set up

On December 17, 1924 (some say December 14), Beijing No.1 tram from Qianmen(前门) to Xizhimen(西直门) was put into operation. To commemorate this day, a bus enthusiast in Beijing packaged a No.124 route trolleybus as a themed trolleybus for the 100th anniversary of Beijing's tram & trolleybus system operation.
On October 17, 1956, the first trolleybus in Beijing was successfully tested for the first time, starting from Xisi(西四) and ending at Fuchengmen(阜成门). The successful test drive indicates that the day when trams will be replaced by trolleybus is approaching. The first trolleybus was opened on February 26, 1957, while March 9, 1959 was the last day of operation for the Beijing tram.

The trolleybus has a Neoplan front. I wonder what type of collaboration was this. I can't find any information on the model itself, Huayu BJD-WG120N.

Partially correct. The trolleybus model in the picture is BJD-WG120N2, which you can understand as an improved version of BJD-WG120N.
BJD-WG120N is a new model jointly developed by YOUNGMAN Automobile, CSR Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Research Institute(南车集团株洲电力机车研究所), and Beijing Public Transport Corporation Trolleybus Manufacturing and Assembly Plant(北京电车制配厂). This model is based on YOUNGMAN's JNP6120G bus bodywork, and the front appearance adopts the Neoplan N6121.
In August 2006, the first prototype trolleybus BJD-WG120N arrived in Beijing for road testing. In January 2007, the remaining 99 BJD-WG120N arrived in Beijing and began passenger operations. At the beginning of 2017, all of these BJD-WG120N s were retired.
In 2012 and 2015, Beijing Public Transport Group introduced a total of 130 BJD-WG120N2 trolleybuses in two separate batches (70+60). The picture in the above post shows the second batch, which is from 2015. The first batch of BJD-WG120N2 has also been retired in 2022. It is worth mentioning that due to printing errors on the vehicle nameplate, some bus enthusiasts consider the two batches of BJD-WG120N2 as different models.
